Police Arrest Two Wanted Armed Robbery Suspects in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two armed robbery suspects who had been on the wanted list since 2025. The arrests were made by Operation Sanity in the Mubi area.

Details of the Arrest

Spokesperson of the Adamawa Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that the suspects, identified as Abdulhamid Salihu (alias Baban Anty) and Bello Yahaya (alias Baban Yambiyu), were arrested following a robbery incident at Unguwar Kara in Mubi on June 10, 2026.

Intelligence-Led Operation

According to Nguroje, the suspects were apprehended through intelligence-led operations by police operatives attached to Mubi North and Mubi South councils. The suspects, along with two accomplices who remain at large, allegedly attacked one Mustapha Ali, inflicting injuries and stealing cash and other valuables.

“Through sustained intelligence-led operations, police operatives attached to Mubi South and Mubi North tracked and apprehended the suspects,” the statement read.

Recovered Items

Exhibits recovered from the suspects include stolen mobile phones, jewelry, handbags, travel bags, and the weapons allegedly used in the crime. The police stated that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being intensified to arrest the remaining fleeing suspects.
