The Rivers State Police Command has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of three children from the same family, assuring residents that a comprehensive investigation has commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a statement issued on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, the Command described the incident as heartbreaking and one that has thrown the state into grief and concern. The police commissioner extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying for strength and comfort for them during what he described as a painful and difficult period.
According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, the Command has already begun a detailed investigation into the matter and is committed to ensuring that justice is served. Adepoju assured the public that every necessary step would be taken to uncover the facts surrounding the deaths and bring anyone found culpable to justice in accordance with the law.
“The Command remains committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding any incident and ensuring that anyone found culpable is brought to justice,” the statement noted.
The police also appealed to residents to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and cooperate with investigators as inquiries continue. The Command reiterated its commitment to the protection of lives and property, while again sympathising with the affected family over the devastating loss.
