Roby Ekpo Fires Back at Ex-Wife's Demand for 100 Million Naira Over Podcast Claims
Roby Ekpo Rejects Ex-Wife's 100 Million Naira Demand

Roby Ekpo has hit back after his ex-wife Mayowa Lambe served him a cease-and-desist notice, demanding 100 million Naira in damages and a public apology for allegations he made during a podcast appearance. The controversy began when Ekpo made statements about Lambe on a podcast, which she claims were defamatory and damaging to her reputation.

Legal Demands from Mayowa Lambe

Mayowa Lambe's legal team sent a formal cease-and-desist letter to Ekpo, demanding that he stop making defamatory claims about her. The letter also required Ekpo to issue a public apology and pay 100 million Naira as compensation for the alleged harm caused. Lambe's lawyers argued that Ekpo's statements were false and malicious, causing significant reputational damage.

Roby Ekpo's Response

In response, Roby Ekpo, through his legal representatives, firmly rejected the demands. He stated that he will not accede to the conditions set forth by Lambe's lawyers and is prepared to face her in court. A portion of the response from Ekpo's lawyer reads:

"Our Client will not accede to your demands presently constituted. Our Client is prepared to join issues with your client before a court of competent jurisdiction, where all claims, counterclaims, and evidence will be properly examined. Should your client proceed with legal action, our client will robustly defend the suit and reserve the right to file appropriate counterclaims, including, but not limited to, claims for harassment, intimidation, and reputational harm arising from false or exaggerated accusations."

Counterclaims and Evidence

Ekpo's lawyer further noted that the cease-and-desist letter contained an admission of some of Ekpo's claims. The lawyer emphasized that Ekpo reserves the right to use this admission as evidence in his petition to appropriate US government authorities, including the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Additionally, Ekpo intends to seek declaratory and injunctive relief to protect his rights and interests.

The legal battle between the former couple is expected to escalate, with both sides preparing for a prolonged court process. Ekpo remains steadfast in his position, asserting that he will not be intimidated by the demands and is ready to defend himself vigorously.
