Seven students of Ebonyi State College of Health Science and Technology, located in Ngbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, sustained injuries during a robbery attack carried out by suspected armed men at the school hostel on Tuesday, June 9.
Attack Details
According to reports, the armed individuals broke into the students' hostel and robbed them of their personal belongings. The hostels lack fencing and security posts, making them vulnerable to criminal incursions.
Police Response
Joshua Ukandu, the spokesperson for the Ebonyi Police Command, confirmed the attack. He stated that efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators and recover stolen items.
The injured students are currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The incident has raised concerns about security at educational institutions in the area.
