The Imo State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the tragic murder of a female student from the College of Nursing, Umulogho. The victim's body was discovered in her private off-campus apartment with her throat slit.
Incident Details
Police were alerted after the body was found in the apartment. According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, DSP Okoye Henry, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and operatives promptly visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment. The body was subsequently recovered and deposited at the morgue.
Investigation Underway
DSP Okoye Henry confirmed that investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and to arrest those responsible. He stated that one suspect has been arrested for preliminary questioning to assist ongoing investigations.
The police spokesperson appealed to students and members of the public to remain calm, assuring that the situation is under control. He emphasized that every effort is being made to ensure those behind the act are brought to justice.
