Police authorities in Kebbi State have made a significant arrest in connection with a violent crime that resulted in the death of a young man. A 20-year-old suspect is now in custody, accused of involvement in the robbery and murder of a 25-year-old whose body was discovered in a remote forest area.
Discovery of the Victim and Swift Police Action
The grim discovery was made on December 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM. The lifeless body of the victim, identified as Ibrahim Yahaya, was found in the Bakin Dutsi Forest, located within the Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The remote nature of the location highlighted the severity of the incident.
Acting promptly on credible intelligence, officers of the Kebbi State Police Command launched an investigation. Their efforts led to the arrest of a suspect just two days later, on December 18. The arrest took place at about 2:20 PM.
Suspect Apprehended with Stolen Property
The police took into custody Aminu Adamu, a 20-year-old male from Yauri Local Government Area. A key piece of evidence led to his arrest: he was allegedly found in possession of a Haojue motorcycle believed to have been stolen from the deceased, Ibrahim Yahaya.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed these details in an official statement. He outlined the sequence of events, from the discovery of the body to the arrest based on the recovered motorcycle.

In line with directives from the State Commissioner of Police, the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a comprehensive and thorough investigation. This move is standard procedure for serious crimes to ensure a detailed probe.
