Florida Middle School Teacher Accused of Heinous Grooming and Sexual Assault Scheme
A shocking case has emerged from Florida where a middle school teacher is accused of orchestrating a manipulative and predatory plan to sexually abuse a 13-year-old student. According to police reports, 41-year-old Daniel Le Lievre allegedly entered into a romantic relationship with the mother of one of his students solely to gain proximity to her young daughter, whom he subsequently raped.
Detailed Allegations of Grooming and Abuse
Authorities state that Le Lievre, who taught at Tuskawilla Middle School in Oviedo, Florida, began dating the victim's mother in October 2023. Over the course of their four-month relationship, he frequently stayed at her home with her and her children, using this access to groom the teenager. The grooming tactics were extensive and calculated.
Police reports detail that Le Lievre engaged in secretive communication with the girl, teaching her Morse Code so they could converse without detection. He also allegedly created disposable email addresses to contact her and instructed her to delete records of their conversations. Their inappropriate relationship extended to public settings, with the mother reportedly witnessing them holding hands at the Disney Springs shopping complex in Orlando and discovering late-night phone calls between them.
The Sexual Assault Incident and Aftermath
The alleged sexual assault occurred during the 2023-2024 holiday break. According to the victim's statement to investigators, on Christmas Eve, she went to the bathroom in the middle of the night at Le Lievre's home, where her family was staying overnight. Le Lievre followed her, commanded her to remove her clothes, and then raped her, afterward threatening her to keep silent.
The mother and daughter did not report the assault until February 2026. When the romantic relationship between Le Lievre and the mother ended in January 2024, he reportedly confessed his true motives, telling her he had only dated her to "get closer to her" daughter.
School Involvement and Prior Investigations
Disturbingly, the abuse was not confined to off-school hours. Police allege that at Tuskawilla Middle School, Le Lievre would spend time alone with the victim in his classroom before and after school, where they would hold hands, hug, and he would sometimes rub her thighs. He maintained a drawer in his classroom containing her perfume and a blanket, and manipulated class schedules to ensure she was enrolled in another of his courses.
This was not Le Lievre's first encounter with disciplinary scrutiny. In 2024, Seminole County Public Schools investigated him for violations related to "student abuse, abandonment and neglect" and inappropriate relationships with students. He resigned before he could be terminated and is barred from rehire. School officials emphasized in a statement: "The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and any type of behavior that undermines that safety will not be tolerated."
Arrest and Charges
Daniel Le Lievre was arrested at his residence on Monday, March 30, on multiple serious charges, including:
- Custodial sexual battery
- Sex offense by an authority figure soliciting a romantic relationship with a student
He is currently being held without bond. According to district records, Le Lievre is a father of two daughters and had a background that included service in the Peace Corps and teaching overseas in Samoa and South Korea before returning to Florida to raise his family.
