Details of the Incident

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the incident occurred on March 1, 2026, at approximately 6:00 PM. Emmanuel Danladi and Titus Joseph were playing at their residence in Kwamba-Suleja when Emmanuel picked up a loaded dane gun belonging to his father, Danladi Baba.

The father, Danladi Baba, aged 51, is a known member of a local vigilante group in Suleja. In a reckless moment, Emmanuel discharged the firearm at close range, striking Titus in the stomach. The injury proved fatal, leading to Titus's death shortly after the shooting.

Police Response and Arrests

Upon receiving the report, police operatives from the Maje Division swiftly moved to the scene. The body of Titus Joseph was transported to the General Hospital in Suleja for official confirmation and procedures.

Both Emmanuel Danladi and his father, Danladi Baba, were immediately taken into custody. They face charges of negligence and culpable homicide due to the improper storage and accessibility of the firearm. The dane gun used in the shooting was recovered as a key piece of evidence.
