Troops of Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace, in collaboration with a Department of State Services operations team, have arrested three suspects during a manhunt for those responsible for the killing of a 25-year-old man in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Incident Details
The operation followed the killing of Daniel Danladi Choki at Tanjol village on May 18, 2026. Security sources disclosed that between May 19 and May 20, troops conducted a cordon-and-search operation within neighbouring Fulani settlements of Luggere and Fass in an effort to track down the perpetrators.
Arrests Made
During the operation, three suspects identified as Umar Musa, 65; Danjuma Mati, 15; and Abdullahi Nora, 67, were arrested at Luggere Fulani hamlet. Several other residents reportedly fled into nearby high grounds on sighting the troops.
The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and profiling to assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending those directly involved in the killing.
Authorities said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to restore calm and prevent reprisal attacks in vulnerable communities across Riyom LGA.
