Troops of Operation EASTERN SANITY II have successfully raided a suspected criminal hideout in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, recovering explosive materials and apprehending three suspects during the operation.

Details of the Raid

The raid, conducted in the early hours of Friday at Achi Town, was based on intelligence reports linking the location to cult-related and other criminal activities in the area. Security operatives, working alongside local security personnel, stormed the residence and recovered eight motorcycles and two buckets containing locally made gunpowder suspected to be intended for unlawful activities.

Suspects Apprehended

Three suspects, including an 85-year-old man and two women, were apprehended during the operation. They were later handed over to security authorities in Oji River for further investigation. Military authorities stated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and disrupt the activities of armed groups and cult-related elements operating in parts of the South-East.
