The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, 10th April 2026, at approximately 0700 hours. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, detectives from the Ibafo Divisional headquarters promptly mobilized to the scene after receiving the information. They rescued the victim and rushed him to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

While en route to the hospital, the victim explained that he had been attacked and macheted by the security guards after arriving in the area late the previous night. Despite the swift response, the victim was later pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital by the doctor on duty, underscoring the severity of the assault.

Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Following the confirmation of death, the body was properly documented and deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for a post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigation revealed a trail of blood linking the scene directly to one of the suspects, leading to his arrest. Sustained efforts by the police resulted in the apprehension of the second suspect, with ongoing efforts to apprehend other fleeing accomplices.
