The Bauchi State Police Command has made a significant arrest, apprehending two private security guards for the alleged theft of an official vehicle belonging to the state government.
How the Theft Was Uncovered
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, the incident was formally reported on December 12, 2025, at about 9:00 a.m. The report was made by Ibrahim Markus, a supervisor with Royal Security Guard Limited, at the B Division Police Headquarters in Bauchi.
The complaint detailed that on the previous night, December 11, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Markus received an urgent call from the Coordinator of the Bauchi L-PRES Government Organisation. The coordinator alerted him that two security personnel assigned to guard the organisation's premises on Adamu Jumba Road in the GRA area of Bauchi had conspired and driven off with one of its official vehicles.
Suspects and Recovery of the Vehicle
The police swiftly identified the suspects as Yarda John, 19, of GRA, Bauchi, and Jessy Danjuma, 19, of State Low-Cost, Bauchi. The stolen vehicle was a white Toyota Hilux with registration number 03B-04 BA, property of the L-Press initiative.
Acting on intelligence, police operatives successfully traced and recovered the stolen government vehicle at the Bauchi Club in the GRA. Both suspects were arrested at the scene in connection with the crime.

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed that investigations into the matter are actively continuing. Authorities have stated that upon the conclusion of the investigation, the two suspects will be formally charged and arraigned in court to face the full weight of the law.
