Two Kidnappers Killed in Abuja Police Raid

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have neutralized at least two kidnappers during a fierce gun battle in the Karshi area, which borders the nation's capital and Nasarawa State.

Police Operation Details

A statement released on Wednesday, May 6, by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the operation took place on May 3. The operatives acted on credible intelligence and stormed the kidnappers' hideout.

According to the PPRO, upon sighting the police, the kidnappers opened fire, prompting a gun duel. During the exchange, the gang leader, Baba Ibrahim, also known as “Tsoho,” and one Isah Shehu were neutralized by the gallant operatives.

Suspects and Recoveries

Three other gang members escaped with suspected bullet wounds, while one suspect was arrested. A search of the hideout led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, one pistol, and 17 rounds of live ammunition.

The statement added: “Preliminary investigations revealed that the syndicate, led by Baba Ibrahim alias 'Tsoho,' comprises Khalid, Dan Geskiya, Mohammadu Mai Tsage, Isah Shehu, and one Dogo.”

Gang's Criminal History

Further investigations indicate that the gang has been linked to multiple kidnapping incidents across Gwagwalada, Nyanya, Jikwoyi, and Karshi areas of the FCT, with at least 12 victims abducted. The police continue to pursue the escaped suspects.
