Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has issued a powerful condemnation and spiritual decree against the bandits responsible for a recent deadly attack on a church in Kwara State.
Oyedepo's Strong Condemnation and Prophetic Declaration
Speaking during a service at Faith Tabernacle on November 23, the influential pastor expressed deep concern about the escalating violence targeting worshippers and communities across Nigeria. He described the persistent attacks as completely unacceptable and a direct assault on innocent lives.
"The Church of Christ in Nigeria is indestructible," Oyedepo declared with authority. "The gates of hell cannot prevail against it. Nigeria will never become an Islamic state. Never, never, never."
Details of the Attack and Growing Security Concerns
The bishop highlighted specific details from the recent violence that prompted his strong response. He revealed that five people were shot dead during the church attack last week, while thirty-five abductees remain missing with their whereabouts unknown.
Oyedepo particularly lamented how kidnapping has transformed into what he called "big-time business" in Nigeria. He noted the alarming trend where criminals are demanding enormous ransoms from poor communities, citing an example where bandits demanded 100 million naira from a village setting.
Spiritual Response and Seven-Day Prayer Directive
In response to the worsening security situation, Bishop Oyedepo announced a spiritual counteroffensive. He urged members of Living Faith Church and Christians nationwide to participate in seven days of intensive prayer beginning at midnight.
"When this church prays, God hears," the bishop asserted. "All who are baptized in the Holy Ghost will join me in praying extensively in the spirit. By so doing, we are sending angels on a run."
Oyedepo prophesied dramatic consequences for the perpetrators, stating repeatedly that "there shall be catastrophes in the camp of the wicked." He specifically placed a curse on every perpetrator of the killings and their sponsors, declaring that within the next seven days, they would begin "smelling and stinking" in the name of Jesus.
The spiritual leader called on Christians to awaken to their spiritual responsibility and collectively "break the arm of the devil from tormenting the lives of the innocent." His message combined fierce condemnation of the physical violence with a call to spiritual warfare against what he perceives as the root causes of Nigeria's security challenges.
