The General Officer Commanding the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Farouk Mijinyawa, has delivered a strong charge to newly promoted Army Warrant Officers and Master Warrant Officers, emphasizing the need for exemplary leadership and renewed commitment to duty.

The significant event took place on November 25, 2025 at the Division's Headquarters Complex in Victoria Island, Lagos. During the decoration ceremony, Maj.-Gen. Mijinyawa addressed the promoted personnel, stressing that their new ranks come with increased responsibilities and expectations.
He commended the beneficiaries for their unwavering dedication to duty and remarkable service to both the Nigerian Army and the nation. The promotion exercise followed the Nigerian Army's recent elevation of deserving personnel across various ranks, as approved by the Department of Personnel Management at Army Headquarters.
Promotion Statistics and Responsibilities
The GOC expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, for approving a substantial number of promotion vacancies within the Division during this year's exercise. The promotion resulted in the elevation of two Master Warrant Officers to Army Warrant Officers while 32 Warrant Officers were promoted to Master Warrant Officers.
Maj.-Gen. Mijinyawa emphasized that the promoted officers must now uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, and loyalty. He stressed that their conduct must reflect the prestige of their new ranks and that they should build legacies worthy of emulation by younger soldiers.
