NAF Airstrikes Decimate Bandit Strongholds in Katsina, Thwart ISWAP Attack in Chibok
NAF destroys bandit structures, halts ISWAP attack

The Nigerian Air Force has executed a series of successful air operations, delivering significant blows to terrorist and bandit networks in the North West and North East regions of the country.

Precision Strikes in Katsina

On November 27, 2025, the NAF launched decisive air strikes in Kankakara, Faskari, and Malumfashi local government areas of Katsina State. According to a statement from the NAF's spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the first operation occurred at approximately 0630 hours.

This initial strike targeted the fortified base of a notorious terrorist kingpin known for serial kidnappings, violent attacks, and livestock rustling across the mentioned areas. Guided by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), NAF aircraft deployed precision munitions to destroy the camp completely.

A follow-up engagement was conducted as surviving fighters attempted to flee the scene. Later that day, at about 1755 hours, a second strike hit a major terrorist enclave in Danfako, Faskari LGA. This attack successfully destroyed logistics hubs, structures, equipment, and other operational infrastructure, neutralizing several terrorists and further degrading their networks.

Counter-Insurgency Success in Chibok

In a separate operation in Borno State, the NAF played a pivotal role in halting a coordinated multi-front attack by ISWAP and Boko Haram insurgents on Chibok. While ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) repelled the initial assault, NAF aircraft conducted four major strikes.

Acting on real-time intelligence from ground forces, the air component targeted regrouping insurgents along their escape route, inflicting significant losses. Additional precision strikes on fleeing fighters disrupted their withdrawal and shattered their ability to reorganize for another offensive.

Arrest and Clash in Taraba

In related security developments, troops of 6 Brigade, Taraba, have arrested a personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who was found operating alongside an armed militia. The suspect is currently undergoing further investigation and profiling.

This incident occurred as the same brigade responded to renewed communal violence in Usmanu Village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State. The violence, stemming from a long-standing land dispute between the Shomo and Wurkun communities, escalated into armed clashes and the burning of houses.

Upon arrival, the troops came under fire from armed assailants. In the ensuing exchange, soldiers neutralized four armed militia members and recovered significant weaponry, including:

  • Three dane guns
  • One fabricated AK-47 rifle
  • 25 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition
  • Two motorcycles

These coordinated operations underscore the continued efforts of Nigeria's security forces to dismantle criminal networks, protect communities, and restore peace across the nation.
