Senator Ngwu Applauds Air Force Counter-Terrorism Achievements

Senator Osita Ngwu, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Air Force, has publicly lauded the Nigerian Air Force for its heightened and effective actions in the fight against terrorism. He has also made a firm commitment to provide ongoing legislative support to bolster the country's security infrastructure.

Strategic Efforts and Technological Advancements

In an official statement released from his office, the lawmaker expressed admiration for the Nigerian Air Force, particularly under the guidance of Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke. Ngwu highlighted what he termed a renewed vigour and a strategic approach in counter-terrorism missions nationwide.

He pointed out that the Air Chief's dedication to implementing modern technology, intelligence-driven air operations, and enhanced training programs has markedly increased the efficacy of current military campaigns. According to Ngwu, the use of precision air strikes and improved intelligence coordination has consistently yielded positive results, effectively dismantling terrorist networks and fostering stability in impacted regions.

Government Support and Funding Needs

The senator also recognized the contributions of the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his continuous support for the Armed Forces. While acknowledging that the allocation of critical resources has fortified the military's operational capabilities, Ngwu emphasized the necessity for increased funding.

He noted that counter-insurgency operations are inherently capital-intensive and demand consistent financial backing to secure enduring success. Ngwu stressed that without adequate resources, sustaining these gains could prove challenging.

Legislative Commitment and Public Cooperation

Ngwu pledged the unwavering support of the National Assembly through its Air Force and other pertinent security committees. He affirmed that the legislature would persist in collaborating with the Armed Forces by ensuring timely approvals, conducting rigorous oversight, and advancing policy initiatives designed to boost operational efficiency.

"The National Assembly remains resolute in its duty to support our gallant men and women in uniform. We will continue to provide the legislative backing required to ensure that the fight against terrorism is sustained and ultimately won," he declared.

Additionally, Ngwu called on all Nigerians to rally behind the military and other security agencies. He urged citizens to contribute through cooperation, maintaining vigilance, and offering credible information to the appropriate authorities, underscoring that public support is crucial for comprehensive security success.
