Solewant Group Boosts Rivers Security with New Police Outpost in Alode
Firm Donates Police Outpost to Enhance Security in Rivers

In a significant move to bolster public safety, the Solewant Group, a prominent energy firm, has officially handed over a newly constructed police outpost to the Nigerian Police Force in the Alode community of Eleme, Rivers State. The handover ceremony took place on 23 December 2025, marking a proactive step towards addressing local security challenges.

A Strategic Investment in Community Safety

The newly built facility is strategically located near the company's industrial park and residential area. This placement is designed to bring law enforcement agents closer to the people, ensuring a more visible police presence. The primary goals are to foster lasting peace, enhance security, and enable a swift response to any criminal incidents within the vicinity.

During the official handover event, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Solewant Group, Solomon Ewanehi, underscored the company's deep commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He emphasized that the safety of employees and community members remains a top priority for the organization.

Addressing Nigeria's Insecurity Challenge

Ewanehi spoke frankly about the global and national concern of insecurity, pointing to troubling statistics that show a rise in banditry, kidnapping, and armed robbery across Nigeria. He expressed a firm belief that with dedicated effort and adequate resources, these crime rates can be significantly reduced.

"A secure community is a productive one," Ewanehi stated, explaining that this philosophy drives the company's proactive support for law enforcement agencies. He also extended gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for granting the necessary approval for the construction of the outpost.

Police Leadership and Community Applaud Initiative

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, commended Solewant Group for its generous corporate social responsibility. He noted that the donation would have a positive impact not only on security but also on the morale of residents who will feel safer.

The Area Commander for the Eleme Area Command, ACP Opeyemi Olufunke, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police, used the occasion to call on other organizations to emulate Solewant Group's example. He urged them to support the police in the collective fight against insecurity. The commissioner also encouraged community residents to fully embrace the new security initiative and cooperate with the police to combat crime effectively.

The community's appreciation was echoed by the Youth President of Alode, Dickson Igwe. He highlighted the positive effect the new police outpost will have on residents' confidence, particularly for local farmers who can now feel more secure in their daily activities.
