Oyo State Assures Residents of Adequate Security
In Oyo State, Commissioner of Police Femi Haruna has assured residents of robust security measures to guarantee a tranquil Eid-el-Fitr. In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, Haruna commended Muslims for their devotion, prayers, and sacrifices throughout the holy month of Ramadan. He urged them to sustain the virtues of peace, tolerance, and unity beyond the festive period, emphasizing the police's commitment to maintaining public order.
Ogun State Intensifies Patrols at Worship Centers
Similarly, police in Ogun State have intensified security in worship centers and strategic locations across all 20 local councils. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed this deployment in a statement from Abeokuta, highlighting efforts to prevent any disruptions during the celebrations. The move aims to safeguard lives and property, with increased patrols and surveillance to deter potential threats.
Delta State Deploys Tactical Units Statewide
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command has announced a statewide deployment of personnel, signaling heightened vigilance amid concerns over public safety. Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola ordered what the Command described as a robust operational deployment, involving conventional police officers, tactical units, and other security personnel to strategic places. Adesola issued a strongly-worded warning, cautioning criminal elements, particularly cultists and mischief-makers, to steer clear of unlawful activities. He stressed that the Command is fully prepared to respond decisively to any disruption of public peace, underscoring a zero-tolerance approach to crime during the festive season.
