Ondo Police Command Vows Crime-Free Easter with Strategic Deployments

The Ondo State Police Command has announced a comprehensive security plan to ensure crime-free and hitch-free festivities during the upcoming Easter celebrations. In a proactive move, police operatives will be deployed to strategic locations across the state, focusing on key public spaces to maintain law and order.

Enhanced Security Coverage for Critical Areas

According to the command, adequate security will be provided at worship centres, recreational centres, major highways, markets, and other critical public spaces. This deployment aims to create a secure environment for both residents and visitors, allowing them to celebrate the festive period without fear or apprehension.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, the command assured the public of its commitment to safety. Jimoh emphasized that the deployment is intelligence-driven, with specialised units mobilised to address potential threats.

Mobilisation of Specialised Units and Tactical Teams

The police spokesperson disclosed that tactical teams and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit have been activated. Additionally, Police Mobile Force and State Intelligence operatives are on the ground to conduct both covert and overt operations against emerging security threats.

Jimoh stated: “This deployment is intelligence-driven and aimed at preventing any form of criminal activity while guaranteeing a peaceful atmosphere throughout the celebrations.” He added that this initiative aligns with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to strengthen security nationwide during Easter.

Public Cooperation and Vigilance Encouraged

The Command urged residents to celebrate confidently, knowing that comprehensive security measures are in place to protect lives and property. However, the public is advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or through official communication channels.
