The location was along the Sani Abacha Expressway, close to the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja. Preliminary reports from the police indicate that a mixer truck was the cause of the collision.
The driver of the heavy vehicle, identified as Salman Usman from a construction company in Wuse Zone 5, allegedly lost control of the truck. The vehicle then collided with the two police officers who were carrying out their official duties at the scene.
