The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has donated 250 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to the newly established Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command. This donation is aimed at facilitating the smooth take-off of the unit.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed, received the donation when he met with the National Chairman of the PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, along with other members drawn from the National, Zonal, and State chapters. The Commissioner commended the PCRC for their generous gesture and assured that the petrol would be used judiciously.

In a statement issued by Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the PCRC National Chairman, speaking on behalf of the Committee, praised the Commissioner of Police for establishing the Violent Crime Response Unit in compliance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police. The chairman noted that the initiative would significantly enhance the operational effectiveness of the Command, improve rapid response to emergencies, and strengthen public confidence in policing within the FCT.
