LSSTF Launches Second Batch of Multi-Agency Security Training in Lagos
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has initiated the second batch of its statewide multi-agency training programme for security operatives, reinforcing a long-term vision to construct a more responsive, intelligence-driven, and ethically grounded security architecture. This strategic initiative builds on efforts to institutionalise professionalism and coordination within Lagos' complex security ecosystem, following the inaugural session last month that trained the first group of operatives.
Expanding Training Efforts for Enhanced Security
The programme, themed 'Enhancing Professional Capacity, Ethical Standards and Inter-Agency Collaboration for Effective Security Operations', signifies a shift from reactive approaches to a more integrated security management model focused on knowledge, synergy, and proactive engagement. Participants in this second batch were selected from various agencies, highlighting the programme's multi-agency depth and commitment to training over 1,000 personnel across security and law enforcement agencies in the state.
Leadership Emphasises Discipline and Collaboration
In his welcome remarks, the board member representing the Advisory Board Chairman of LSSTF, DIG Agboola Oshodi Glover (retired), emphasised the importance of attentiveness and discipline. He stated, "This is a special training we are organising for you. It is the second session, and I hope you will pay close attention to what is being taught because you will need it in your service."
At the opening ceremony, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, stressed the significance of collaboration in modern security operations. He noted that the initiative was designed to break institutional silos and enhance operational outcomes, urging participants to view training opportunities as strategic investments rather than routine exercises.
Focus on Practical Knowledge and Engagement
Dr Ogunsan emphasised the need for active engagement with facilitators, sharing experiences with colleagues, and acquiring practical knowledge to improve personal effectiveness and collective service delivery. This approach aims to foster a culture of continuous learning and inter-agency cooperation, ultimately strengthening Lagos' security framework against emerging threats.
