Iran Vows to Fight On as Trump Says Ceasefire on Life Support
Iran Vows Fight as Trump Calls Ceasefire Dying

President Donald Trump said Monday that the ceasefire with Iran is "on life support" after Iran's response to the latest U.S. peace proposal. He has rejected Iran's reply as "totally unacceptable" and on Monday called it a "piece of garbage."

Iran Stands Firm

The Iranian government insists it demanded only the country's "legitimate rights" and no "concessions" in its response. Speaker of Iran's parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said on social media that the country's military stood ready to "teach a lesson" to any aggressor. "Our armed forces are ready to respond and teach a lesson for any aggression," Ghalibaf stated. "A bad strategy and bad decisions always lead to bad results — the world already understands this."

Trump Seeks China's Help

Trump is expected to encourage China to pressure Iran into making a deal to end the costly war during his visit to Beijing later this week, when he will meet with President Xi Jinping. The U.S. president's harsh words come as tensions continue to escalate between the two nations.

Analysts suggest that the collapse of the ceasefire could lead to renewed hostilities in the region, with potential consequences for global oil prices and international security. Both sides remain entrenched in their positions, with Trump demanding concessions and Iran refusing to back down.
