The operation occurred on May 10, 2026, in Tumfa Village, Shinkafi Local Government Area, based on credible intelligence that terrorist commanders had convened for a strategic meeting at a concealed hideout on the community's outskirts. Military sources indicated that the meeting point was carefully hidden within dense vegetation, making it a preferred location for insurgent coordination.
A statement from Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, revealed that troops from Sector 2 collaborated with the Air Component to execute the airstrike following sustained surveillance that confirmed the gathering's exact location.
The strike was meticulously planned to minimize collateral damage while maximizing impact on the terrorist enclave.
