FIFA has announced the full list of training sites for the 48 teams competing in the 2026 World Cup, which kicks off next month. Defending champions Argentina and England will both set up their base camps in Kansas City, Missouri, according to the official list released by football's governing body.

Distribution of Base Camps Across Host Nations

The record 48-team tournament will see 39 teams based in the United States, seven in Mexico, and two in Canada. Heimo Schirgi, the 2026 FIFA World Cup chief operating officer, emphasized the importance of these base camps, stating that they are integral to the fabric of the tournament, providing teams with a place to train, recuperate, and experience daily rhythms.

Notable Base Camp Locations

Iran will be based in Tijuana, Mexico, after Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the country would allow the team to avoid US visa restrictions. Colombia, South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uruguay will also be based in Mexico.
