Turkish Pundit: No Striker Can Replace Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray
No Striker Can Replace Osimhen at Galatasaray, Says Pundit

A Turkish football commentator has explained why Galatasaray will find it difficult to replace Victor Osimhen when the Nigerian striker eventually leaves the club. Osimhen is currently in his first permanent season with Galatasaray, but transfer rumors linking him away have persisted since his arrival.

Interest from European Giants

Multiple top European clubs that initially overlooked Osimhen during his Napoli exit have reopened their interest following his impressive performances at Galatasaray. Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Arsenal are among the clubs reportedly monitoring the Super Eagles forward. Despite this interest, Galatasaray is reluctant to sell their star player, and any potential deal would likely require nearly double the record-breaking €75 million the club paid to sign him.

Pundit's Concerns on Replacement

Turkish pundit Zeki Uzundurukan has voiced concerns about finding a suitable replacement for Osimhen. He believes the club could sell him for almost double the purchase price, but questions who could fill his role. “Galatasaray might sell Osimhen, but who would they get in his place? You could count them on one hand. I don't think they'll sell a player they bought for 75 million Euros in five instalments for less than 130 million,” Uzundurukan told A Spor, via GS Gazete.

He added, “Will Lewandowski come to Türkiye? It's very difficult. Because he's in contact with Milan. Besides, Lewandowski can't provide the same effect as Osimhen. That enthusiasm is something else entirely. I've never seen Osimhen walk even once. He's always running, always fighting.”

Osimhen's Commitment to Galatasaray

In a recent interview with Onah Kosi, Osimhen reaffirmed his dedication to Galatasaray, describing the club as a home where he and his family feel comfortable. “I think I've found a home here where I am comfortable, as are my family and a few close friends,” he said. “This club, I'm trying to find the right word to justify it, is family. It's love, unity, and utmost respect, not just for the player but for everyone associated with them.”

This declaration comes amid growing interest from European clubs determined to lure Osimhen away from the Turkish champions. Galatasaray has provided Osimhen with a lucrative contract and a platform to build a lasting legacy over two seasons.

Arsenal's Potential Offer

Legit.ng previously reported that Serdar Ali Celikler revealed the salary Arsenal would need to offer Osimhen to facilitate a move to England. Celikler claimed the Gunners would have to double Osimhen’s current salary due to high taxes in England to convince him to move.
