To encourage football lovers, especially followers of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), to watch Enugu Rangers' final day game against Ikorodu City of Lagos on Sunday, Afrinvest West Africa has rolled out a cart of gifts for fans.
According to the investment banking firm, which is the official jersey sponsor of Rangers International FC, fans interested in the initiative are required to register via a provided link. The gifts include 300 tickets, 200 jerseys, and special gift items for the first 100 Rangers' fans to arrive at the 10,000-capacity multi-purpose Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium), Lagos Island, on match day.
The Group Managing Director of Afrinvest, Ike Chioke, stated yesterday: "All one needs to do is sign up on the link provided by Afrinvest and arrive at the match venue at least one hour before kickoff."
Chioke also called on Rangers' fans in Lagos, and others who can travel to the Centre of Excellence, to rally support for the club that produced Nigerian football legends such as Emmanuel Okala, Christian Chukwu, Adokiye Amiesimaka, Aloysius Atuegbu, Austin 'Jay-Jay' Okocha, John Utaka, and Onyekachi Apam.
Partnership Impact
In October 2023, Afrinvest signed a three-year partnership deal to uplift the Enugu clubside and help resolve administrative, medical, and player welfare issues. The impact was real as the club immediately went on to clinch the 2023/24 league title – eight years after winning it in 2016.
Title Decider
Enugu Rangers are leading the NPFL table with 65 points and have also secured qualification for the CAF Champions League for the second time since the partnership with the financial services firm. A victory in Lagos would secure Rangers a record-extending ninth league title, regardless of the outcome of other fixtures.
