In a shocking holiday tragedy, former German international footballer Sebastian Hertner has lost his life following a horrific accident at a ski resort in Montenegro.
The Tragic Incident at Savin Kuk
Sebastian Hertner, aged 34, died on the spot after plunging from a chairlift at the Savin Kuk ski resort near Žabljak. Preliminary reports from Montenegrin authorities indicate that the double chairlift he was riding with his wife became detached from its cable. It then collided with the seat behind it, causing the fatal fall.
His 30-year-old wife, who was seated beside him, was left trapped in the dangling chair. Emergency services had to conduct a rescue operation to bring her down. She sustained a broken leg and was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
Rescue Operation and Club's Tribute
The accident stranded at least three other tourists in their chairs for several hours. Rescue teams worked to safely bring everyone down from the malfunctioning lift.
