Galatasaray Owes Napoli €17.5m for Victor Osimhen Transfer, Report Reveals
Galatasaray's €17.5m Osimhen Debt to Napoli Exposed

Fresh details have emerged regarding the financial agreement between Turkish giants Galatasaray and Italian club Napoli for the record transfer of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

Payment Plan and Outstanding Debt

According to a report from Turkish outlet Fanatik, Galatasaray still owes Napoli a significant sum of €17.5 million for the permanent signing of Victor Osimhen. The total transfer fee for the Nigerian international was set at a massive €75 million when the deal was finalized in July 2025, following a successful loan spell.

The payment structure agreed upon by the two clubs involved an upfront payment of €40 million, which was reportedly made immediately. The remaining €35 million was scheduled to be paid in two instalments. The first of these instalments, amounting to €17.5 million, was settled in November 2025.

This leaves the final €17.5 million instalment outstanding, with the full payment expected to be completed by April 2026. The deal also includes a notable 10% sell-on clause for Napoli on any future profit Galatasaray makes from selling Osimhen.

Osimhen's Performance Since Permanent Move

Victor Osimhen's form since making his switch to Istanbul permanent has been a mix of brilliance and frustration, largely influenced by fitness issues. The striker, who scored an impressive 37 goals and provided 8 assists during his loan season, has faced challenges this term.

He has suffered two separate muscle injuries while on international duty with Nigeria in September and November, causing him to miss four Turkish Super League matches. In the league, his tally stands at 5 goals in 11 appearances, with a recent brace—including a spectacular overhead kick winner—against Samsunspor marking a return to form.

However, his impact in the UEFA Champions League has been nothing short of sensational. Osimhen has scored 6 goals in just 3 matches he has played in the competition. Galatasaray's results starkly highlight his importance: the team has won all three matches he has featured in and lost the two he missed.

Financial Impact and Club Earnings

Despite the substantial remaining debt, reports indicate Galatasaray has already begun to recoup a significant portion of their investment. It is estimated that the club has earned close to €40 million from various revenue streams linked to Osimhen.

This income is attributed to match-winning bonuses in both domestic and European competitions, as well as a surge in sponsorship deals and merchandise sales driven by the star striker's presence. Osimhen signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray worth a net €21 million per season.

As the payment deadline of April 2026 approaches, all eyes will be on Galatasaray's financial management and on Osimhen's continued performance, which will be crucial in justifying the historic transfer fee.
