Following an outstanding performance in the 2025/26 Nigerian National League season, Inter Lagos has officially secured promotion to the elite Nigerian Premier Football League. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the club, as it becomes the second Lagos-based team to compete in the top division next season, joining Ikorodu City in the prestigious league.

Promotion Details and League Standings

Inter Lagos confirmed their elevation to the NPFL with a 1–1 draw against Smart City FC in Conference A of the NNL on Monday, accomplishing this feat with one game still remaining in the season. This result gave them a total of 29 points from 15 matches, showcasing their consistency and competitive edge throughout the campaign.

In the NNL structure, there are four conferences, and the top teams from each automatically qualify for promotion to the elite division. Inter Lagos is the second NNL side to secure their promotion, with Doma United being the other confirmed team. Two additional teams are expected to join them in the NPFL upon the conclusion of the season, further expanding the league's competitive landscape.

Upcoming Challenges and Super 4 Play-Off

Before officially stepping into the NPFL, the newly promoted sides will face a final test in the Super 4 play-off, scheduled to take place in Ikenne. This playoff serves as a crucial event to determine the overall NNL champion, providing an opportunity for teams to demonstrate their readiness for the elite level. Inter Lagos will need to maintain their strong form to succeed in this high-stakes competition.

The promotion of Inter Lagos not only highlights the club's growth and success but also enriches the football scene in Lagos, offering fans more local elite matches to support. This development is expected to boost interest and investment in Nigerian football, particularly in the Lagos region.
