Heavyweight rivals Anthony Joshua and Kristian Prenga are set to meet for the first time in London on June 1, ahead of their highly anticipated summer showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to globalboxingnews.co.uk.
Joshua's Return to the Ring
London 2012 Olympic gold medallist and former two-time Unified Heavyweight World Champion Anthony Joshua will make his highly-anticipated return when he headlines 'The Comeback' on July 25. He will face Albanian knockout artist Kristian Prenga in an event associated with Riyadh Season and Matchroom Boxing.
Joshua enters the bout with a professional record of 28 wins and four losses, including 25 victories by knockout. His most recent win came by knockout against Jake Paul last December.
Joshua's Storied Career
Over the past eight years, Joshua has been central to some of boxing's biggest heavyweight events. He captured and unified world titles with landmark wins over Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Kubrat Pulev, and Andy Ruiz Jr. He has also shared the ring in high-profile clashes against Oleksandr Usyk, Daniel Dubois, and Francis Ngannou, headlining several global stadium events, including Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Prenga's Knockout Record
Standing in his way is Albanian heavyweight Prenga, who holds an incredible knockout record: 20 wins, all by knockout, and just one defeat on his professional record. The 35-year-old, who turned professional in 2016, will be competing in the highest-profile bout of his career to date, marking his first appearance in a major international main event.
The June 1 face-off in London will build anticipation for the July 25 showdown, which promises to be a thrilling encounter between two powerful heavyweights.
