Brazil legend Kaka has made a bold prediction ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 2007 Ballon d'Or winner believes Brazil will lift the trophy in the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Speaking with The Athletic, Kaka tipped Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to be named the best player of the competition. He also backed Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti to emerge as the best manager at the event.
"For me, Brazil will win the 2026 World Cup. The best player in the tournament will be Lamine Yamal. The best coach of the 2026 World Cup will be Carlo Ancelotti," Kaka said via Sportskeeda.
Brazil is the most successful nation in World Cup history with five titles and has reached the final seven times. The Selecao will aim for a record-extending sixth title in North America.
Kaka also expressed confidence in the United States national team, predicting they will reach the semi-finals. The USA qualified automatically as co-hosts and will benefit from home support. Their best recent performance was in 2022 when they reached the Round of 16.
Fans reacted to Kaka's predictions on social media. User @kawe_angelo commented: "Kaka decides. In one interview you say Neymar will be the best player, in another it's Yamal, then Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. Make up your mind." Meanwhile, @haitianlink added: "Kaka only got one question right: the best player at the 2026 World Cup will be Lamine Yamal."
The 2026 World Cup will be the first to feature 48 teams, expanded from 32, with 104 matches played across the three host nations. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
