Michael Jackson Appointed Interim Burnley Coach After Parker Exit
Michael Jackson Named Interim Coach at Burnley

Burnley has appointed Michael Jackson as interim manager following Scott Parker's decision to resign as head coach of the already relegated Premier League club. The Clarets announced that assistant coach Jackson will take charge for the remainder of the season. Burnley currently sits 19th in the Premier League standings and has already been relegated to the Championship, England's second-tier soccer competition.

Parker's Departure

"Following confirmation of the club's relegation from the Premier League last week, Parker and the board held discussions and mutually agreed that his time at Turf Moor would conclude," Burnley said in a statement. Parker led the Clarets to an impressive 33-match unbeaten streak during the 2024-25 season, securing promotion to the Premier League. However, the team struggled in the 2025-26 campaign, recording four wins, 22 draws, and eight losses under his guidance.

Parker's Statement

"It has been an immense privilege to lead this great club over the past two years," Parker said. "I have enjoyed every moment of our journey together, but feel that now is the right time for both parties to move in a different direction."
