Nigeria Faces Madagascar, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau in AFCON Qualifiers

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn against Tanzania, Madagascar, and Guinea-Bissau in the race for qualification to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda next summer.

Group L Details

These four teams are placed in Group L. The draw ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association in Cairo on Tuesday. Former Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong served as one of the draw assistants.

Qualification Format

A total of 48 teams will participate in the qualifiers, with the draw producing 12 groups. Only 24 teams will qualify for the finals. The tournament is scheduled to run from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

Morocco will face Gabon, Niger, and Lesotho in Group A, while Senegal will take on Mozambique, Sudan, and Ethiopia in Group J.
