Tacha Blasts NFF Over AFCON Defeat, Demands CAF Petition
Tacha Slams NFF After Super Eagles AFCON Loss

Popular reality television personality, Tacha, has launched a scathing attack on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), holding them responsible for the Super Eagles' painful exit from the Africa Cup of Nations. Nigeria lost to the Atlas Lions of Morocco in a semi-final match decided by a penalty shootout on Wednesday, January 14.

A Controversial Officiating Crew

The match, which ended in heartbreak for Nigerian fans, was officiated by a referee from Ghana assisted by a linesman from South Africa. This selection immediately raised eyebrows among many supporters, given the historic football rivalries between Nigeria and both nations. Tacha echoed the sentiments of countless Nigerians who felt the officiating was biased and negatively impacted the game's flow.

Tacha's Fiery Instagram Critique

Expressing her deep disappointment on her Instagram page, Tacha did not mince words. She labeled the NFF as a "very unserious organization" for its failure to act proactively. Her central argument was that the federation should have immediately petitioned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) the moment the match officials were announced.

"The moment those referees were announced, the NFF should have petitioned CAF!" she wrote. Tacha argued that even if CAF had refused to change the officials, the act of petitioning alone would have served as a warning, putting the referees "on check." She contrasted this with the NFF's "silence," which she believes led directly to one of the worst-officiated games in football history.

Describing a "Shambolic" Performance

In her detailed post, Tacha described a match where the referee's decisions constantly disrupted the rhythm. She claimed fouls were given that made no sense, leaving even the Moroccan players occasionally confused about the whistle. She insisted this went beyond typical "home advantage" and was simply poor officiating.

Tacha called on the NFF to finally take action by petitioning CAF to review the match and question the referee's fitness to handle games at such a high level. She concluded that such performances damage the overall credibility of African football.

The loss ended Nigeria's campaign at the tournament, sparking nationwide debate about the performance of the team, the technical crew, and the administration of football in the country, with Tacha's voice adding to the chorus of criticism aimed at the football federation.
