Canice, the top seed, defeated a resilient Sani Musa (seed 11) with a score of 2-1 (6-4, 6-3) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, second seed Adeleye Daniel overpowered Onyekachi Ogunjiofor in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, to also advance.

Another player who qualified for the round of 16 is Sani-Inabo Yahaya, who triumphed over Ahli Alpha after the latter retired in the second set, with the score at 6-0, 3-0.
Women's Category Highlights
In the women's division, top seed Mohammed Khadijat continued to demonstrate why she holds the number one position in Nigerian ladies' tennis. She defeated Maxwell Timipre in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Tournament sixth seed Ogunjobi Success also advanced, sending wildcard entrant Samuel packing with a 6-0, 6-3 victory.

Udofia Mary beat Blessing Otu by two sets to love, 6-1, 6-1, joining top seed Mohammed Khadijat and Ogunjobi Success in the quarterfinal race. Godwin Mary outclassed Benjamin Indifreke 6-1, 6-2, while Bamidele Abosede dismissed Ogah Loveth 6-2, 6-2 to secure their places in the next round.
