Alaafin of Oyo to Launch AI & Robotics Centre for Youth Empowerment
In a significant move to boost youth empowerment and technological progress in Oyo State, the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, is preparing to officially unveil the OWOADE STEM, AI & Robotics Centre. This innovative initiative is designed to provide the younger generation with state-of-the-art skills in robotics, artificial intelligence, and applied Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), marking a pivotal step in local development.
Transforming the Innovation Landscape
The OWOADE STEM Centre is strategically crafted to revolutionize the innovation ecosystem in Oyo by offering practical training that directly enhances employability, encourages entrepreneurship, and accelerates business automation across various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and small enterprises. Students and young professionals will receive hands-on exposure to STEM applications, ensuring they are well-prepared to compete in the global knowledge economy and contribute to economic growth.
Strategic Partnerships and Management
Stanchion TM Consults NG, led by Dr. Temitope Akinsemoyin, has been appointed as the official management and strategic development partner for the project. The firm will oversee all operational, programmatic, and partnership aspects, leveraging its expertise in public-private collaborations, enterprise growth, and youth-focused initiatives. Notably, Stanchion TM has a proven track record, having previously partnered with the Presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OSSAP – Humanitarian) to deliver impactful poverty alleviation and youth development programs.

Construction and Implementation Support
African Group NG has been selected as the construction partner for Phases 1 and 2 of the Centre, responsible for developing a modern, practical, and scalable facility. Penfruge Global Limited, known for its successful collaborations with international organizations such as GIZ, UNDP, and ILO, will provide support for implementation and capacity-building components, ensuring the project's effectiveness and sustainability.
International Expertise and Global Best Practices
The Centre will benefit from international expertise through partnerships with IBMKP Global Australia, along with Australian and Nigerian technology partners. These collaborations will ensure access to cutting-edge STEM kits, robotics equipment, and global best practices, enhancing the quality of training and innovation outcomes for participants.

The official launch of the OWOADE STEM, AI & Robotics Centre coincides with the Alaafin’s first anniversary on the throne, highlighting the palace's dedication to innovation, youth empowerment, and strategic economic development.
