HP Unveils AI Tool to Enhance Employee Productivity and Workplace Efficiency
HP Inc. has launched a new workplace technology system, named HP IQ, aimed at revolutionizing how employees interact with digital tools and collaborate seamlessly across devices. The primary goal is to reduce inefficiencies that negatively impact productivity, as highlighted by the HP 2025 Work Relationship Index, which identifies access to the right tools and technology as a key enabler of the employee experience. According to the index, the more frequently knowledge workers use artificial intelligence (AI), the better their relationship with work becomes.
Streamlining Routine Processes with Embedded AI
Unveiled at HP Imagine 2026, HP IQ is designed to streamline routine workplace processes by embedding artificial intelligence directly into office devices. This approach focuses on enabling employees to complete tasks faster, minimize interruptions, and maintain focus during work activities. Tuan Tran, President of HP’s Technology & Innovation Organisation, stated that HP’s vision for the future of work is a connected, intelligent ecosystem that helps work flow across devices, spaces, and the moments in between.
"HP IQ is how we connect those experiences, reducing digital friction for employees while fitting into the environments IT already manages, so organizations can bring these experiences to life with confidence," Tran explained.
Key Productivity Benefits and Automation Features
A statement from the company emphasized that the key productivity benefit lies in the system’s ability to automate repetitive tasks such as note-taking, document summarization, and information retrieval. By integrating these functions into everyday workflows, employees can reduce time spent switching between applications and instead concentrate on higher-value tasks.
For instance, built-in tools can generate summaries from documents or capture key points during meetings, allowing workers to stay engaged without manual documentation. The company added that the system supports continuity of work by retaining context across tasks, enabling employees to resume activities without needing to reconstruct previous steps, which helps reduce delays and cognitive load. This continuity is particularly relevant in environments where workers frequently move between meetings, documents, and collaborative platforms.
Governance and Management Through HP WXP
HP IQ is built for modern workplace environments where intelligent experiences need to operate reliably across devices and spaces. Configuration, policy, updates, security, and compliance can be governed through the HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP), HP’s control plane for workforce management. Manoj Leelanivas, President of HP Solutions, elaborated on this integration.
"As HP IQ introduces a new intelligence layer across devices and workspaces, WXP operates above it as a trusted control plane for IT, delivering unified visibility, built-in security, seamless manageability, and proactive remediation across the device fleet. Together, on-device AI and WXP enable HP to deliver intuitive, high-performance user environments while giving organizations the governance and actionable insights needed to thrive in the future of work," Leelanivas stated.
Proximity-Based Connectivity and On-Device Processing
Another feature aimed at boosting efficiency is proximity-based connectivity, which enables faster interaction between nearby devices. This allows users to share files instantly, join meetings with minimal steps, and transition work between devices without complex setup processes. Such capabilities are expected to reduce time lost to technical friction, especially in collaborative settings.
In addition, the technology prioritizes on-device processing, with many tasks handled locally rather than relying on cloud connectivity. This can result in faster response times and more reliable performance in environments with limited or unstable internet access—conditions that often disrupt workflow in many organizations.
Organizational Impact and IT Management Tools
From an organizational perspective, the system provides IT departments with tools to monitor and manage device performance across the workforce. Centralized oversight can help identify inefficiencies, address technical issues quickly, and maintain consistent digital working environments, all of which contribute to sustained employee productivity. HP’s innovation underscores a commitment to enhancing workplace efficiency through intelligent technology solutions.
