Jigawa Sets N7.67 Million Final Hajj Fare for 2027

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially set the final fare for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage at N7,672,822, requiring all intending pilgrims to clear their outstanding balances on or before 18 September. The Board's Director-General, Ahmad Umar Labbo, announced the figure during a briefing, stating that pilgrims who had already made an initial deposit of N7,500,000 are now expected to pay a balance of N172,822 to complete their registration.

Deadline and Departure Schedule

Labbo called on Zonal Officers across the state to intensify sensitisation efforts to ensure pilgrims complete their documentation ahead of the scheduled 26 September departure date. He urged the officers to enforce strict compliance with the 18 September deadline, emphasising that prompt payment is necessary for a smooth operational rollout. The Director-General stressed that adherence to the timeline is critical for logistical planning and coordination with Saudi authorities.

Support from State Government

The Director-General thanked the zonal officers for their continued cooperation and expressed profound gratitude to Governor Umar Namadi for his unwavering support, particularly for providing loans for Hajj seats to assist intending pilgrims in the state. According to Labbo, the governor's intervention has helped ease the financial burden on many residents, enabling broader participation in the pilgrimage. The Board continues to work with local government officials to ensure that all registered pilgrims meet the payment deadline.

Call for Compliance

Labbo reiterated that the 18 September deadline is non-negotiable, and any pilgrim who fails to pay the balance by that date risks losing their seat. He urged zonal officers to maintain close communication with intending pilgrims, providing guidance on payment procedures and documentation requirements. The Board's announcement comes as part of ongoing preparations for the 2027 Hajj, with officials monitoring compliance to ensure a seamless departure from Jigawa State.
