Ogun State Commissions Industrial Park and Flags Off Mall Project in Ode-Remo
In a significant move to bolster industrialization and economic development, the Ogun State Government has officially commissioned the ATC Business and Industrial Park in Ode-Remo. The event also marked the flag-off of a new shopping mall project within the facility, aimed at enhancing commercial activities and fostering growth in the region.
Governor's Vision for Economic Advancement
Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Works, Adebowale Akinsanya, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the state's broader economic agenda. The project is designed to attract both local and foreign investments, create numerous job opportunities, and improve the overall standard of living for residents.
Abiodun described the park as a strategic hub that will provide a structured environment for industries and businesses to thrive. He highlighted its potential to stimulate small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and drive community development through increased commerce, skills training, and better livelihoods in Ode-Remo and surrounding areas.
Private Sector Leadership and Infrastructure Development
Oladipo Odujinrin, Chairman of Abejoye Trading Company (ATC), the developer behind the project, hailed it as a major milestone in private-sector-led infrastructure development. He noted that the industrial park is already operational and has begun attracting international investors.
Odujinrin disclosed that the 10-acre facility has four acres fully developed, with three warehouses currently occupied by foreign-owned companies. Core infrastructure, including roads, reliable power supply, and administrative buildings, has been completed to support business operations.
Strategic Location and Future Prospects
The park's proximity to key transportation hubs, such as the Gateway International Airport in Iperu/Ilishan and the proposed Olokola Deep Sea Port, positions it as a vital logistics and industrial center. This strategic location is expected to enhance its appeal to investors and facilitate seamless trade and commerce.
Related Government Initiatives
In a related development, the Ogun State Executive Council has approved several other projects and renaming efforts. The Sagamu–Iperu–Sapade Expressway has been renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following an earlier announcement during the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport.
Additionally, the former Aviation Village in Iperu has been renamed after the late Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo, recognizing his contributions to the community. The Council also approved the procurement of 50 electricity transformers under the Light Up Ogun Project to improve power supply across the state, further supporting industrial and residential needs.
These initiatives collectively underscore Ogun State's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for business, enhancing infrastructure, and driving sustainable economic growth through public-private partnerships and strategic planning.
