Power Restoration After Jambutu Feeder Tower Collapse

Authorities and electricity distribution officials have confirmed that restoration works are ongoing following the collapse of a transmission tower on the 33kV Jambutu Feeder, which has affected electricity supply to parts of Yola North and surrounding communities in Adamawa State.

Assessment and Reconstruction Underway

According to a statement from the management overseeing the network, technical teams, along with the contractor handling the reconstruction, have completed a detailed assessment of the damaged infrastructure. Reconstruction activities have since commenced with the aim of restoring power as quickly as possible to affected areas.

Affected Communities

Communities impacted include Modibbo Adama University, Girei, Hayin Gada, the Federal Housing Estate, and adjoining neighborhoods currently experiencing outages due to the incident on the feeder line. The affected infrastructure, identified as the 33kV Jambutu Feeder, is a key part of the local distribution network serving residential, institutional, and commercial users in the area.

Management Appeals for Patience

Management expressed regret over the disruption and appealed for patience, assuring residents that efforts are being intensified to ensure power is restored within the shortest possible time. Officials also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support the protection of electricity infrastructure, warning that vandalism and interference with installations continue to pose risks to reliable power supply.

“We appeal for continued understanding and cooperation as we work to restore normal service,” the statement read, adding that updates will be provided as reconstruction progresses. The restoration team says work will continue until full service is re-established across the affected feeder line.
