Air Peace has clarified the circumstances surrounding the return of its Lagos–London Gatwick flight shortly after departure, stating that the decision was taken due to enroute airspace-related operational constraints that affected the aircraft’s ability to continue its journey safely and in compliance with aviation procedures.
Precautionary Diversion
The airline explained that the flight, which departed Lagos en route to London Gatwick, encountered conditions along its planned flight path that necessitated a precautionary diversion back to base. It stressed that the action was taken strictly in line with international aviation safety standards and established operational protocols.
According to Air Peace, the decision to return was not influenced by mechanical failure or passenger-related issues, but by external operational considerations affecting the airspace on the intended route.
