The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has solidified its position as Europe's leading supplier of imported jet fuel for the second consecutive month, overtaking the United States and reshaping global fuel trade dynamics. July Shipments and Market Share
According to the refinery, more than 400,000 tonnes of jet fuel from its Lekki facility were delivered to Europe in July. This volume represented approximately 20% of the continent's total jet fuel imports, which stood at 2.06 million tonnes for the month. This performance follows a record-breaking June when the refinery exported 466,000 tonnes, displacing the US as the region's primary source of aviation fuel.
The consistent growth underscores Dangote's capability to meet stringent international quality standards while competing in the highly competitive European aviation fuel market. The refinery's strategic location along Nigeria's Atlantic coastline, combined with its large-scale refining capacity and modern technology, has been instrumental in achieving these export volumes.
