inDrive's Major Push for Driver Welfare in Nigeria
The global mobility service, inDrive, has made a substantial financial commitment to its Nigerian operations, announcing an investment exceeding N1 billion into driver welfare initiatives throughout 2025. This landmark move, confirmed by the company, is aimed at creating a more equitable and supportive environment for ride-hailing drivers across the country.
Key Initiatives for Driver Support and Recognition
Throughout the year, inDrive rolled out and expanded multiple programmes focused on critical areas for its drivers. A significant development was the enhancement of its Platinum Tier loyalty programme, which now offers a wider array of exclusive perks for top-performing drivers. These benefits include premium rewards, priority support services, and access to additional earning opportunities directly linked to their performance.
In a major step for driver safety and long-term wellbeing, the company also broadened its health insurance scheme. This initiative was extended to cover 600 high-performing drivers, ensuring they have access to essential medical services.
Celebrating Excellence and Building Community
To cap off what it describes as a transformative year, inDrive launched a large-scale driver rewards contest in key cities like Lagos and Abuja. This contest featured bi-weekly prizes, live announcements of winners, and interactive sessions designed to motivate drivers, celebrate their achievements, and strengthen the sense of community within the inDrive network.
Timothy Oladimeji, inDrive’s Country Representative, emphasized the company's dedication. He stated that this N1 billion investment is a clear demonstration of inDrive's long-term commitment to driver welfare, safety, financial empowerment, and ensuring fair earnings.
