The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering voluntary tax compliance by leveraging technology to provide seamless access to tax services. This was announced on Wednesday during the official launch of Rev360, the agency's next-generation digital tax administration platform, which aims to deliver a more integrated, intelligent, and taxpayer-centric experience.
Executive Chairman's Remarks
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, described Rev360 as a transformative platform that facilitates the Service's transition to Tax Administration 3.0. He emphasized that the platform improves service delivery, strengthens compliance management, enhances transparency, and simplifies taxpayer interactions. According to him, Rev360 marks a significant milestone in building a modern, efficient, and responsive tax administration system aligned with global best practices and the evolving needs of taxpayers and businesses. He further noted that the NRS has evolved from an accounting agency to a technology-driven organization.
Minister of Finance Commends Innovation
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Danjuma, commended the NRS for its dedication to innovation and institutional transformation. He stated that digital platforms like Rev360 are crucial for strengthening revenue administration, improving the ease of doing business, boosting investor confidence, and supporting the Federal Government's economic reform agenda. Oyedele highlighted that technology-enabled tax administration systems are becoming the backbone of modern economies, essential for creating a transparent, predictable, and business-friendly environment that fosters sustainable growth and national development.
Executive Director on Platform Benefits
Earlier, the Executive Director of the Medium and Emerging Taxpayers Group, Mrs. Bolaji Akintola, noted that Rev360 represents the first phase of a broader transformation aimed at simplifying taxpayer interactions with the Service and enhancing the overall taxpayer experience. She explained that the platform is designed to improve taxpayer onboarding, filing, payment processing, compliance management, and support services, while providing taxpayers with greater visibility, convenience, and confidence in fulfilling their tax obligations.
Technology Executive Highlights Progress
In an interview, the Executive Director of Technology at NRS, Iniabasi Akpan, revealed that 600,000 taxpayers have already been onboarded on the platform. He stated that the technology makes it easy for taxpayers to pay their taxes, describing it as much faster and more convenient. “It is much faster, much more convenient, and will ultimately drive voluntary compliance,” he said, adding that if people can pay easily and conveniently from their offices or homes, it will naturally encourage them to comply more readily.
Panel Session and Support Framework
A key highlight of the event was a panel session titled “Designed by Us, Used by All,” where operational users, support teams, and platform administrators shared practical insights on platform adoption, operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, taxpayer support, and lessons learned from the implementation journey. The Service also showcased its integrated support framework, which includes the Rev360 Command Centre, Customer Service Group, Operations Teams, Information Technology Service Management teams, and Corporate Communications personnel. This framework is designed to provide timely support, issue resolution, escalation management, and continuous stakeholder engagement throughout the implementation process.
Commitment to Innovation
The launch further reinforced the Nigeria Revenue Service's commitment to innovation, digital transformation, stakeholder collaboration, and continuous improvement as it advances its vision of building a modern revenue administration system that is efficient, transparent, data-driven, and responsive to the needs of taxpayers and the Nigerian economy.
