Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol and Diesel Prices Again
Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol and Diesel Prices

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced a fresh reduction in the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also referred to as diesel. This move comes as a welcome development for consumers and businesses alike, as fuel prices have been a major concern in recent months.

Price Reductions Details

The refinery has lowered the gantry price of petrol by N25 per litre, bringing it down from N1,275 to N1,250 per litre. This represents a significant reduction that is expected to ease the financial burden on motorists and other users of petrol. Additionally, the price of Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) has been reduced by N100 per litre. Diesel will now sell at N1,700 per litre at the gantry, down from the previous N1,800 per litre.

Impact on the Market

These price cuts are likely to have a ripple effect across the Nigerian economy. Lower diesel prices could reduce transportation costs and the cost of goods, while cheaper petrol may provide relief to commuters and small business owners. The reduction comes about three weeks after reports emerged that the refinery had increased the ex-gantry price of petrol, making this latest adjustment a notable reversal.
