Energy Times is a renowned industry-based newspaper with a wide readership and a large subscriber base across the country.
Honoring Pioneering Investments
The award celebrates NIPCO Gas’s pioneering investments since 2009 as a first mover in marketing natural gas for automobiles and industrial machinery. The award specifically cited the company’s NMDPRA gas distribution licenses for key economic zones, including Ibadan, Abeokuta, and Lekki, which have unlocked gas access for homes and industries.

According to the citation read by Energy Times Editorial Board Chairman, Mallam Yakubu Lawal, NIPCO Gas’s leadership is evident in its vast network of operational CNG stations and twenty more under construction via its joint venture with NGML. The company’s pipeline network has become a critical enabler for businesses seeking to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints.
Group Assistant General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Lawal Taofeek, who received the award on behalf of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Nagendra Verma, described the recognition as a major boost. “This is the third consecutive honor from Energy Times. It affirms our commitment and leadership among peers,” he said, promising further investment to deepen gas penetration nationwide.
