Globacom has once again demonstrated its dedication to preserving Nigeria's rich cultural heritage at the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival, held on Friday in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. The telecommunications giant rewarded outstanding Regberegbe groups and horse-riding families with cash prizes, highlighting the event as one of the country's most prominent cultural celebrations.
Winners of the Regberegbe Competition
In the male Regberegbe category, Egbe Bobakeye Okunrin Akile Ijebu claimed the top spot, winning N750,000. Egbe Bobagunte Okunrin Akile Ijebu secured second place with N600,000, while Egbe Bobamayegun came third and received N500,000. Among the female groups, Egbe Arobayo Obinrin Precious emerged victorious with N750,000, followed by Egbe Jagunmolu Obinrin Stainless in second place with N600,000. Egbe Bobamayegun Obinrin Aremo took third place and earned N500,000.
Eleshin Horse Riding Competition
The Eleshin horse riding competition also generated significant excitement as the Kuku family won the top prize of N750,000. The Oreagba family earned N600,000 for second place, while the Shoye family came third and received N500,000. These competitions remain key highlights of the annual festival, with participants vying for honors through their presence, cultural displays, and horsemanship.
