Thousands of worshippers filled the Abesan Stadium in Ipaja, Lagos, for a powerful night of spiritual transition into the New Year. The High Tower Global Church hosted its Alimosho Global Crossover Service, dubbed the "Night of Abundance," marking the entry into 2026 with fervent prayers, prophetic declarations, and a significant humanitarian outreach.
A Night of Worship and Prophetic Declarations
The all-night event featured intense praise sessions led by renowned gospel music ministers, Tope Alabi and Wande Babalola. Their soul-lifting performances created an electrifying atmosphere, which attendees said paved the way for a profound experience of spiritual renewal and hope.
Addressing the congregation and journalists, the Global Prophet of High Tower Global Church, Rufus Ikotun, first expressed gratitude for God's faithfulness throughout the challenging year of 2025. He then delivered a powerful prophecy for the new year. "The Lord said to me that in this year, 2026, there will be abundance for His children," Ikotun declared. He emphasized that divine provision would distinguish believers despite prevailing global and national economic uncertainties.
Prophet Ikotun also spoke directly to Nigeria's security situation, stating, "God said banditry will stop because the source of its power will be exposed. The Lord has heard the cry of His people." He further prophesied a positive national transformation, saying, "Nigeria will change for the better, and the way it will happen will amaze everybody."
Community Impact: Feeding 5,000 and a Vision for More
A central pillar of the crossover service was a massive humanitarian outreach. The church distributed food items, including bags of rice, feeding approximately 5,000 people from among the worshippers and the surrounding Alimosho community.
Explaining the motivation behind this act, Prophet Ikotun shared a personal story from his humble beginnings. "I hate seeing people hungry because I have been there before," he recounted, describing a childhood where rice was a rare luxury. "Today, God has blessed me, and I told Him that people must go home from crossover with something."
He revealed ambitious plans to scale up this initiative, announcing, "By the grace of God, next year we are doing 10,000." The cleric stressed that community impact is non-negotiable for any genuine church. "Any church that is not making impact in its community is not a church. The true definition of church is help," he insisted.
More Than a Service: A Revival and a Message to Leaders
Prophet Ikotun framed the event as more than a conventional New Year service. "It’s not just a crossover; it’s a revival, a crusade. God revived lives tonight," he noted, citing testimonies of healings and transformed lives during the service.
Looking forward, he announced plans for a mid-year revival in July and assured Nigerians of the church's continued spiritual and social interventions throughout 2026. He also directed a message to the nation's political leaders, urging them to lead with compassion and ensure tangible dividends of democracy for citizens.
Concluding with a charge to all Nigerians, Prophet Ikotun encouraged steadfast faith. "Stand with Christ. Jesus is not one of the ways; He is the only way. In 2026, God will put His children into abundance," he declared. The historic Night of Abundance concluded on a high note, leaving attendees spiritually uplifted and socially impacted.
